There have been questions regarding what is allowed in carports in the City of Horseshoe Bay. Below is a definition from the city code compliance officer. You can read the full code by going to http://z2.franklinlegal.net/franklin/Z2Browser2.html?showset=horseshoebayset. At the end of the page you can download a pdf the city code referenced below .

The ordinance for storing items in carports is Sanitation Restrictions, Sec. 6.02.007 (a)(3)(4). This ordinance covers “open storage” and lists many items that can’t be stored in open view plus it states “and other unsightly items”. You can read the section for Definitions at Sec. 6.02.005.

The main things the city watches for are cardboard boxes, lawn equipment, junk, tires car parts, tools, and other things that appear unsightly. A carport should be a place to park/store your vehicle. If someone has items that need to be “stored”, then they should be placed inside the residence, garage or rental storage unit.
